A friend purchased this game for me via Steam.
I installed it, and start it. The game shows the opening splash screen for about a second, and the steam “press shift+tab” to view the steam overlay thing pops up.
At this point Bullet Candy stops rendering correctly, and dies. I can’t do anything except alt+tab out, and kill bullet candy with task manager.
As far as I can tell (it may just be a timing coincidence), your game cannot co-exist with the steam overlay.
Do you have instructions on how to start the game without the steam overlay? If this is not the problem, is it multi-core? I’ve had other games freak out and die in the past because they cannot handle multi core machines.
I don’t know of anything else that could be wrong with my system, I haven’t experienced any other issues with recently released games.
I’ve heard of this problem on the Steam forum for Bullet Candy, but it seems that it’s not affecting everyone who tries to access the Steam Community stuff. I haven’t been able to replicate the problem on any of my machines either, but i’ll have a look at the multi-core thing. What other game is it that also has the problem?
Cheers
Charlie
